Landon's First Easter
Our little Bunny had the sweetest Easter! I couldn't have asked for a better week for him!
what a wonderful experience! My mom who has been battling breast cancer and is recouping from her Mastectomy 2 weeks ago ventured up to the park to enjoy a little easter fun!
Well, over the weekend, the community where my mom lives had an Easter event at the park, so we stopped by to check things out!
IT WAS SOOOOO MUCH FUN!
Now the minute we got the park, Landon lit up like a Christmas Tree! He is soOoo SOCIAL! There was a firetruck that took us around the neighborhood and he waved hello during the entire ride! Everyone on the Truck kept saying how ADORABLE he is! He totally is!
Today, we hosted Easter at our house. It was our first official Easter! We haven't had easter dinner in a long time- but I went ALL out. I want to have traditions that Landon will remember and want to come home too!
So here is our dinner table set up!
I found these cute little Bunny Bread balls on Pintrest so I HAD TO TRY! they were a hit!
just buy ready to bake rolls... (let them rise for 1-2 hours) then cut the little ears and poke eyes out to make bunnies... viola! (I didn't let it rise so they look like fat kittens)
He enjoyed Green Beans, Roasted Chicken, Corn, Bread and Mashed potatoes. He enjoyed socializing with everyone!
after lunch, we went out to our front yard and Landon went searching for 3 little eggs.. he skipped the eggs and went straight to the easter baskets to pull them apart. He squealed and laughed! It was ADORABLE!
He was delightful!
Here are some photos of our family at the Irvine Easter Park last weekend! Photos were taken by my sister!
Happy Easter Everyone! Hope yours was as memorable as ours!
God Bless!

Landon is 9 months
Mr. Big Boy is turning into a mini moving machine!! He is super busy and it's getting hard to take his photos! he flips, he squirms, he crawls away, stands.. he's very very hard to control! but every photo is worth all the trouble!
Weight: We came back from vacation and he had a little cold. They weighed you at 19 lbs. not bad.
Health: we made it through 9 out of 10 days in hawaii before he caught a mild cold. he also cut 2 teeth this month and that has thrown him off a little. He's a little moody and his sleep patterns have changed. Daylight savings time also threw us a curve ball. Oh- lets just say, change change change has really caused us to get a little loopy.
Sleep: we follow a sleep when baby sleeps rule.. because lately he's a trying to get adjusted! he dropped his 3rd nap and he's now taking 2 long naps.. his schedule seems to be:
7am Wake
10am nap
2:30 pm nap
7:30 sleep
1:30am nurse
5:00am nurse
Clothing:
Mostly everything is 6-12, carters 12, and jammies are 6-12/9.
We Just washed all his 6/9 clothing from h&m, Gap and Zara (they seem to run true to size).
Sizes 12 in ralph lauren, Carters
it made me sad to pack all his baby clothes away. he looks like a little toddler!
Diet:
He's eating 3 oz of baby food and 6-7 oz per nursing session (I think). He usually gets 2 oz of veggies and 1 of fruit. Drinks 2-3oz of water from a sippy cup with a straw.
items he picks up: bread, avocado, peas, green beans, carrots, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, pears, apples, blueberries, string cheese, puffs, gerber cheetos, broccoli, mango, papaya, cantaloupe, watermelon, garbanzo beans, kidney beans, black beans, rice, steel cut oatmeal... pretty much anything I eat, you want to taste.
Development:
Well you stand, get down, cruise, crawl, climb... he is on the verge of walking. We introduced a walker and by the 2nd day, he was backing it out and pushing it around. He got one of those walkers to sit in for christmas- and we used it at grandma and grandpas for a few weeks with little interest, so we took it home... a few days ago- he realized how much freedom he had with it.. opening drawers, pushing over the trashcan, chasing the dogs... its madness! He can climb up his slide and slide down, we are on stage 3 of our excersaucer... and he loves to stand up and watch us run his bath.
verbal development:
mama, dah dah, pap pap, mah, eat, hi, bye, bock bock (chicken)
claps his hands when we sing, plays well by himself, notices other babies and he's very chatty.
he knows which dog is which. if I ask him wheres Leiah Bear, he will look her way etc.
Crying: a few days before he cut his first and second tooth- there was some drama.
He is such a Joy! I love LOVE LOVE LOVE him!

Flying with an 8 month old
Well- Landon took his 3rd trip... (5-6th flight).
He did Very WELL!
My husband took us to hawaii as a valentines day gift! On our first flight, we were scheduled to sit together- but when we got there, babies were not allowed to sit in the row we selected so they split us up... we were not the only family with infants that were split up, 2 other families were split!! SO- I was moved to the back of the plane and my husband was in the front.
A couple flying with a third person suggested I switch seats closer to my husband- which I gladly accepted, BUT when I went to move, it was next to an older couple (in their late 60's) who threw the biggest tantrum that THEY WOULD HAVE TO SIT NEXT TO AN INFANT.
the woman- was LIVID. I reassured her that we travel a lot and that Landon was a really good baby.
she was not having any of it. in fact, she was SO loud, all the flight attendants came over to try and extinguish the issue... they ended up moving the womans grand daughter (who was sitting across the way) next to them- and me, in the granddaughters seat.
which was fine. we actually lucked out. we sat next to a woman who bought herself 2 seats and kindly let Landon sit in the middle and to thank her, we paid for her to have a dvd player.
and so off to hawaii we went...
like I told the old lady, Landon is a wonderful traveler... and this is how our flight went.
- we nursed on take off and landing and during the 3rd hour. (it was a 6 hour flight)
- he ate breakfast and lunch on the plane (oatmeal and apples for breakfast, sweet potatoes, oatmeal and peas for lunch)he drank water from his sippy cup
- he snacked on puffs
- he took 2 naps, 1st nap was for 45 minutes and second was for 2 hours
- we changed his diaper twice... and changed his clothes 3x (once after every meal)
- dad checked on us once (he was stuck in a window seat and honestly, it was a bitch to watch him get up to help)
-we watched his music video on his ipad (the wheels on the bus) 30-40x...
-we sang a lot of songs..
- we played with all his toys... and with TONS of cups and straws.
- we started with 10 pacifiers.. and a gallon sized bag filled with toys and ended up with that many in our dirty bag.
and at the end of our flight, the same couple that was upset about Landon, apologized to me. they agreed that Landon was an amazing traveller but I wanted to stab her for being such a bitch...
so my husband flew us home first class... and my husband has decided thats the only way we'll fly from now on... unless we buy 3 seats.
this is what I've learned about flying...
1. we carry clorox wipes or hand sanitizer wipes and wipe down EVERYTHING... trays, handles, seats, window, wall... EVERYTHING.
2. the bathroom with an infant changing table is located in the back. theres usually only 1.
3. flights under 6 hours does not have food available.
4. try to travel during baby's sleeping hours. there was only 1 direct flight available for the day we decided to fly... it was at 7am... we had to wake up at 4. there was a lot of planning involved... A LOT. we flew home at night and he slept 80% of the time.
5. in first class, the last seat has a backing in the middle of our two seats.. so he sat there and played for an hour or so.
6.fly safe and fly often!
looking back.. "what landon would look like"
When I first got pregnant, we did a few tests. One of the websites we used was morphthing.com and I would have to say... they were pretty spot on...
you can check out the post here
cracks me up!!
This is what my Landon looks like...
this is what the website predicted...
Creepy?? Maybe a little.

I'm a full time mom- 24 hours a day.
I'm a SAHM, full time sales rep and I own my own online business... it is challenging and at times insane...
my hours are crazy.. while the baby plays, I work on my bridal company, create quotes for my hospitals, send out text/emails and make sure all my paperwork is kept up. while he naps- I make phone calls and schedule appointments for work.. when he goes to bed- I package my sales and get them ready to ship. if I have to go out and work during the week (2-3 days a week), my husband will work from home or Landon goes to my moms.
Throw in a curve ball- he is exclusively breastfed and when I'm working, I have to pump in my car- 2-3x... that means, when I'm at a hospital, I will sit in a parking lot and pump before my meetings...
life as a mother is already challenging and I do this for my son because I love him... life as an employee, I'm sure I'm somewhat of a burden... I'm 100% sure when they hired me in my mid 20's, they hired someone different than who I am now... but that's what happens. All our sales reps are men. all our sales reps are married with kids.. all our sales reps have wives that stay at home to raise their kids... but here I am- doing it all, best I can...
it has worked really well for me for the last 9 months... heck, it worked throughout my pregnancy... until monday when my company let me know that they needed me to pick up a few extra territories. all the other reps were traveling 2-3 days a week out of state and I couldn't keep up. The job I'm in, it's not cut out for full time moms and I felt a lot of pressure to either abandon my dream about being a mother and keep up with the guys.. at first they said I was unable to grow the territory as much as they wanted- but truth is, I was pregnant last year, I had to keep up my numbers and gain new business that they had lost... and as hard as I tried- I knew, I was being pushed out..
I even told my husband when they changed my pay structure that I felt like they were trying to get me to quit. but I'm not a quitter... so instead, I rode my last wave as a full time employee... and here I am...
a full time mom..
and it is the best decision- its what I wanted and I'm excited. I get to wake up everyday and be his mother all day. I get to see him experience his first.. I get to be the one who teaches him how to become a boy, a man. I am that person and I AM EXCITED!
the funny thing is- it was never about money.. money is not an issue. I haven't had to work since I got married.. it was because I didn't want to be a housewife. but I want to be a mother- a great mother... the best mother out there.
