Lucy's Nursery Reveal

I'm finally finished with Lucy's nursery! I'm so glad my Inlaws came back for a visit! They helped me finalize all the artwork!

I knew I wanted a coral and gold theme. I didn't want any animals but I wanted it to be creative!

With the first inspiration... I felt that her closet was too big. Sounds silly I know, but she won't need such a big closet for the first 10 years of her life. So my father in law built her a beautiful nook! It is seriously amazing!

We kept the dressers that were in the room. We repainted it coral and they really helped the nursery pull together!

I spent a lot of time thinking about her crib, bedding, rug and wall art.

We went with the jenny Lind crib which I love!!! It's affordable and super cute!

Our crib sheet and skirt is from pottery barn and our gold dotted sheet set is from land of nod (i invested in the toddler set because it comes with a flat sheet and pillow case which I'll utilize later!)

The letters are from land of nod. I made the flower mural by using my cricut machine and cardstock! So easy and the flowers really pull the wall together! My awesome coral rug is from cafepress.

Side table is part of the dresser set. The lamp is from target, stuffed rabbit is from jelly cat and the vintage inspired radio is from Anthropologie.

We basically stole Landon's rocking chair this morning and trust me... He was not a happy camper. He was so pissed that my Inlaws offered to buy Lucy a new one! The quilt is from "Nooches" (etsy). Pillow is from "sukanpillows" (etsy). I made the stuffed rabbit and our curtains are from pottery barn. Curtain tie backs are from "the chic decor shop" (etsy). The ball thing is from target.

The changing table/dresser: this wall is still in progress but it's almost done!
Changing pad cover, heart shaped shelf and diaper/accessory tray is all from Land of Nod. The accessory frame is from MonCheriShop (etsy). I made the 2 pieces if artwork. Which I love!

We filled her heart shaped shelf with goodies I had around the house.

We will finish the room with her going home outfits framed and possibly some photos! Other than that, I'm completely excited about how it turned out and I hope she will love growing up in her room!

Lucy's Nursery project Part 1

It started with this Pinterest photo Here:

And with that, the wheels started ticking... and with amazing Inlaws and a husband who were willing to make this happen... We started building!

Our Kids have HUGE closets. The side we built the nook had a desk and shelving unit built in. Though we loved it, we thought it would be better with a reading nook!

First the nursery colors. I chose 2 colors I thought would look great together.

Paint Brand: Beher

Colors: Gentle rain on the wall and cool melon as an accent color and our pop color will be Gold.

I thought this project would be super easy, but apparently, it was more complicated than I thought! When I saw frame work, I realized we were in serious business!

We painted our pieces before we built our walls, roof, and bases. Seeing it come to life was so exciting!

Completing the ladder was a huge success! Seeing it all come together was amazing! Once we painted and mounted our ladder, we were pretty much done!

Here is Landon testing out our project!

We also put together the crib and repainted our dressers & side table . I purchased these dressers at an estate sale about 10 years ago. They were avocado green. My husband refused to let me take them with unless they were black..

So black it was.. For a long time! After we bought this house, we had it placed in our guest room (now Lucy's room)... This dresser is soooo heavy, we decided to just keep it in the nursery and refresh it.

Adorable! I'm going to take the drawer pulls off again and try to shine it up. If anyone has tips on how to do so, let me know?

I decided on the Jenny Lind crib. It's classic and vintage inspired. I LOVE it.

The bumper and sheet bedding is from pottery barn kids. I plan on making my own bed skirt because I really want a pink ombre ruffle look.

My next post will be about details! Stay tuned!!

Lucy's Nursery Inspiration

This was the photo that started it all... Shades of pink along with a splash of gold...

**SWOOooOn**

And then I saw this image:

And I died. Let's see if I can make it happen... Btw.. I never completed Landon's nursery.. Big fat fail..

So this week I've been ordering all my nursery essentials, can't wait to show everyone my final design!

Nursery Sneak Peak..

Well, We are in the early stages of decorating.. I realize now how much more work will go into making his Nursery complete, but just starting it gives me butterflies!

So here is a photo of his crib/bedding... I LOVE IT! I know theres a whole "To Bumper or NOT to Bumper" argument, but I would rather have a crib bumper and watch him like a hawk than have a broken leg or arm when his limbs get stuck between the bars... So we decided on a bumper and the Angel Care motion detector. man is this baby going to be monitored like a prisoner. Seriously, After seeing this photo below, I thought.. I can't risk it.

on a more positive side... here is his little lamp... its SOooOoo CUTE, I can't take it. I would have to say, my hubby has a slight tendency to go overboard when decorating... he likes everything Matchy Matchy... and I try to spread it out. I was iffy on the lamp, but overall its not that bad!

and Lastly, his changing table/dresser... very bare I know, but I can start filling it in the next few months.

well that's our little sneak peak.. I'd show you a photo of his growing wardrobe, but his closet needs to be cleaned out. It's like hoarders anonymous in there.

Nursery.. registering... researching.. OH MY!

I spent a majority of my weekend researching and registering for Mc Nugget. I mainly used the registry as an organizing tool for items that I need, want, or think I want for my little journey into parenting.

It's great to have feedback from family and friends, I also read a lot of blogs, reviews and spent most of my time weighing my options. I must say, it was tedious and extremely overwhelming.

in the end, I'm pretty satisfied with all of my choices and I hope I made the right decisions on most items. If I didn't, it'll be a lesson worth learning and it'll only make me a better parent. Besides, just because the item received an A rating doesn't mean baby McNugget will like it!!!

so onto some good news.. today we both had the day off so we woke up early and headed out. Not really expecting to buy anything, I just wanted reassurance with some items. First, the nursery. I've been really trying to narrow down a theme. I liked the airplane theme because I want McNugget to shoot for the stars! I did want a calming environment for him and wanted him to thrive!!

so when we walked into this little boutique, first off, there was a 50% off sale... second... the baby bedding was Airplane theme. oooh.. I went banana sandwiches over it.

how could I pass???? Completely excited over the bedding.. we added a little rug, lamp, curtains, blanket, and extra fitted sheets.

then we travelled over to a furniture store to take a look. They also had a sale (No sales tax)... we looked around and gathered pamphlets, looking over price, sat in some rocking chairs... after about 30 minutes, we started to leave... until I saw something that caught my eye.

after looking at this particular set up, we realized it was the favorite and best furniture we've seen... so my husband decided "it is worth every penny if I don't have to look at any more baby furniture"... soOOoo, we now have a complete nursery (almost)... We went with the brand "Munire". The Majestic collection was our favorite (we got married on the yacht majestic)!! the best thing my husband said was, "we need to get him a hutch.. he'll have lots of trophies" lol.

so here are some photos!

and lastly, we decided on a baby mattress... Brand is called Moonlight Slumber. the collection is: Starlight Support Supreme.

Why did I decide on this brand? well, first off its PVC Free, fire Resistant, waterproof, antimicrobial (HUGE DEAL!!), bedbug prof, tight fit (edge to edge so the baby can't slip his legs in the corner, dual firmness and memory foam on the other side...

so the best thing is, you don't need a bed cover. so if there are accidents, you just wipe it clean!
also the baby starts off on the infant side of the mattress and when he's a toddler, you flip the mattress for the memory foam. :)
lastly I like it because it will last him for at least 6-7 years before we convert it to a full size bed.

my husbands favorite thing about ordering everything today... for $127 bucks, they deliver AND build the furniture for u! wooOo hoOOo!

well little Nugget, We hope you LOVE your nursery!! You better love it! you only have about 2 months in my room until we move you into your dope ass room!!

xoxo
