Landon's birthday party!

We successfully threw Landon his 1st birthday party!! According to my husband, it was his first & last birthday party.. Yeah right!

Here are a few details of his party:

It started with a theme- we went with circus carnival theme! My sister and I immediately started pinning ideas on Pinterest! You can check out my board here.

I found the cutest idea for invitations.. And I customized my own- and added the same design for our envelopes.

I then ordered party decorations from oriental trade company and party city.. Some from target as well...

My first chalkboard sign! I got this board at Marshall's for $49.00. I used pastels instead of chalk for a more vibrant look. I also hung it in my breakfast nook so I can change the designs for holidays, seasons & special occasions!

The dessert table was my favorite! My sister put the table and desserts together! She made the birthday cake and cupcakes! I loved how the display turned out! She's so amazing at this stuff!! She filled jars with animal crackers, cotton candy, popcorn & peanuts!

The cupcakes had circus animals jumping through flames... Lol

I also made a yearly photo montage of Landon, I printed the photos from foxgram.com (3x3 with borders).. And bought this frame with chicken wore from Marshall's for $49... We put it in our living room and I will change it out as I go! It's a great way to display all my Instagram photos! I bought the mini clothes pins from target and michaels.

The drink table was set up by me! We served lemonade because it was perfect for a sunny day!

We knew very few people would drink so I got these ready made frozen daiquiris and margaritas from costco... They're so yummy! Especially the peach flavor! It's not strong at all... But they were festive! (Straws were also from my sister and she cut all the cute flags with Landon's name on it!)

The food table was filled with snacks, fruit & appetizers..

We set up his highchair next to the food table..Nothing too extravagant because we hired a taco guy.. I didn't want to spend my entire day in the kitchen!

See my taco guy. If you're in the OC area, you have to use my taco guy.. For a little extra bucks, he brings a lady who makes fresh tortillas by hand!! When the party ended, he packaged all the left overs for us!

I decorated the tables according to our color theme. Wrapped utensils with tickets & added center pieces with these cute circus mugs, flowers and Mylar balloons!

My sister made this adorable ticket booth! She's been saving this giant cardboard box for months! We got so many photos with it!! Landon was suppose to greet our first few guests, but he decided to nap the first hour of his party.

Outside in our garage we had a photo booth!! My best friend came and saved the day!! She set up the photo booth by hanging balloons up and we added cute decorations for dress up!

we had 4 stations of fun and simple carnival games.. My husband used our air compressor to quickly blow up our games.. I love these games!!! It's perfect as Landon grows and has play dates!

Landon was especially excited to play with his two friends- we were all pregnant with the almost the same due date (Kat and I shared a due date and Mary was due a few days after us!)

We let him enjoy his cake, he laughed when everyone sang happy birthday to him.. Then he really dug in! The cake was made by my sister! It was perfect!!

It was such a great birthday party and I'm so happy that everyone came to celebrate with him!

Thank you everyone who made it to celebrate Landon's Big 1st SoirĂ©e! He loved all his presents and is very blessed to have such loving family & friends!!

Happy birthday buddy!

Toddler meals: grilled sweet potatoes & zucchini

Do you have a George Forman grill hidden in your pantry??

Well take it out, dust it off... And get ready... I'm about to blow your mind!!!

I've temporarily retired my baby breeza and now I'm having an affair with my George Forman Grill. I've used it everyday for the last few weeks!

Today on the list: grilled sweet potatoes and zucchini.

Peel & Slice veggies

Brush a thin layer of coconut oil on each side, season veggies with salt, pepper and/or Italian seasoning.

Place veggies on the grill & press for 6-8 minutes:

The zucchini cooks for about 5 minutes.

Served with sliced string cheese & cut blue berries!

*hint: I offer his veggies first... And then cheese... Fruit is last!
