31 weeks: let the count down begin

How far along? 31 weeks!

Total weight gain/loss: ok so I gained 9lbs since my last appt 5 weeks ago. Can you say "fatty"??? Must be all the milky buns (ice cream filled donuts).. So total weight gain is 31lbs.

Maternity clothes? I caved and got maternity shorts... It's really hard to chase a toddler in maxis and dresses...

Stretch marks? Nope!

Sleep? Yes and no.. The insomnia is kicking in again and I'm a bitch when I wake up in the middle of the night!

Best moment this week: baby shower invitations were sent out and I'm pretty excited about it! I also saw Lucy on Monday... Let's just say, this little lady is egar to make her appearance so I'm now on bedrest!

Miss Anything? I kind of miss socializing.. Traveling and good food!

Movement:
she's moving around a lot and I love it!

Food cravings: fruit, pizza and milky buns (hot donuts filled with ice cream)! So so good!

Anything making you queasy or sick: all clear!

Have you started to show yet: you cannot miss me... I'm huge.

Gender: sweet baby girl!

Labor Signs: nope!

Belly Button in or out? Barely in.

Wedding rings on or off? on

Happy or Moody most of the time: happy happy happy!!

Looking forward to: im ordering artwork for our nursery. We did buy a ton of stuff and we're waiting for some to arrive!

Toddler Activities: Watercolor Painting

We introduced watercolors a few weeks ago. He kept drinking the water and eating the brush. It was really hard to get him to paint.

So I changed it up. I took an old container and cut a hole our, filled with a little water... And BOOM.. Painting became this amazing game for him!

To wash his brush was actually a learning opportunity. He had to fit his brush in a little hole to wash.

After he washes his brush, I asked him to pick up some color.

He kept whispering "paint"

Everytime I cheered beautiful, he would smile and keep painting! I love it!

Toddler Activities: Water Painting

It's hard to trust a toddler when you're trying to cook dinner... So I decided to try something new.

I introduced water painting sans color to my little guy.

All it took was a little water, paper and a brush and I was able to keep him interested for 45 minutes!

The beauty of water painting??? He can eat it, paint on the walls.. And there's no mess to clean up!

While I cooked dinner, I did repeat the following  a million times... "Paint on the paper..", "don't eat the brush, paint." And lastly, "not in your mouth, on the paper".

Toddler Activities: St. Pattys Day Art.

Since our Valentines Day cards were such a hit, we decided to create St Pattys Day cards!

What you need:
Card Stock & Envelopes
Glue
foam Stickers
Poms
Crayons

He looks forward to stickers... He says "stuck" while he tries to get it off his fingers.

We had to purchase specialty crayons because when I'm not looking, he will bite into his crayons. It drives me nuts!!

This is the 1st time I introduced glue. It takes a lot if patience to indrouce glue... And this is the perfect place to do it.

And tahDah!! The finish product! In the end, we added some wasi tape. It's pretty cute!

Landon is 21 Months

Well, here comes the waterworks! My toddler is coming closer to a 2 year old. It's scary. He's acting more and more like a 2 year old... Let's say.. More like the terrible twos.

Weight: 26.5 lbs..

Health: we had our 1st stuffy/ runny nose a few days ago. Nothing a humidifier, Tylenol and onion couldn't cure. Everyone says it's his last set of his molars and though we've had smooth sailing with all his teeth, I'm really struggling with the last 4 coming out.

Diet: still eating everything. He started becoming a little pickier, ex: declining eggs. We decided to switch it up and offering cereal with milk.

Social: we've been seeing our family a lot, which means he gets to interact with more children his age! He loves it!

Sleep: a slight sleep regression the last 2 weeks. It's been rough!! Throw in teething and this mama is TIRED!! The good news, last night he slept 7:30-7:45!
Let's hope I get him back on track with napping!

Crying: Well he is testing us. At the beach on Sunday, he saw a child his age throwing a tantrum and it was mesmerizing to him.. Then Monday-Wednesday has been interesting. I started redirecting, staying firm... And I don't give him what he wants unless he stops, calms, and relaxes.

Loves: painting, "learning" time, walks, cars, puzzles, water and all animals.

Clothes: size 18 & 24, some 2T. Shoes 6.

Milestones- lots of new words... Loves "learning time", can color sort, recognize almost all his basic animals, counts a few numbers.

Must Haves: shoes, snacks, his bear and giraffe at nap/bed time.

Teeth: 14! I felt 1 back molar so looks like his last set of teeth are coming... It's been rough. This is a whole new ball game! Losing sleep, runny nose, tons if drool just dripping from his mouth.. He also has his hands in his mouth a lot!

This month Landon's been very verbal. He explores and discovers. We really let him be independent. He's really good about following directions and cleaning up after himself. I love who he is becoming and he's so inquisitive. Teaching him has been exciting because he absorbs information so quickly! I think about enrolling him in school but with a new baby coming in a few months, we decided to wait.

Lucy's Nursery project Part 1

It started with this Pinterest photo Here:

And with that, the wheels started ticking... and with amazing Inlaws and a husband who were willing to make this happen... We started building!

Our Kids have HUGE closets. The side we built the nook had a desk and shelving unit built in. Though we loved it, we thought it would be better with a reading nook!

First the nursery colors. I chose 2 colors I thought would look great together.

Paint Brand: Beher

Colors: Gentle rain on the wall and cool melon as an accent color and our pop color will be Gold.

I thought this project would be super easy, but apparently, it was more complicated than I thought! When I saw frame work, I realized we were in serious business!

We painted our pieces before we built our walls, roof, and bases. Seeing it come to life was so exciting!

Completing the ladder was a huge success! Seeing it all come together was amazing! Once we painted and mounted our ladder, we were pretty much done!

Here is Landon testing out our project!

We also put together the crib and repainted our dressers & side table . I purchased these dressers at an estate sale about 10 years ago. They were avocado green. My husband refused to let me take them with unless they were black..

So black it was.. For a long time! After we bought this house, we had it placed in our guest room (now Lucy's room)... This dresser is soooo heavy, we decided to just keep it in the nursery and refresh it.

Adorable! I'm going to take the drawer pulls off again and try to shine it up. If anyone has tips on how to do so, let me know?

I decided on the Jenny Lind crib. It's classic and vintage inspired. I LOVE it.

The bumper and sheet bedding is from pottery barn kids. I plan on making my own bed skirt because I really want a pink ombre ruffle look.

My next post will be about details! Stay tuned!!

Total weight gain/loss: +21 lbs on my home scale... Ehhhh my highs decided to touch. So gross.

Maternity clothes? Packed up my leggings, it's been 75•+ so I need to figure it out. It's hard to chase a toddler in maxi dresses so I might have to invest in some maternity shorts.

Best moment this week: worked on the nursery and it looks amazing! I'll have to do a post on it!
