Landon's First Thanksgiving..

Gobble Gobble Gobble
Fat Turkey, Fat Turkey
Gobble Gobble Gobble
Fat turkey today...

Thanksgiving was hosted at our house this year! 55 people arrived and we did GREAT! Hosting Thanksgiving AND having a new born was exhausting!! I barely got any photos AND Landon tooted during my dads speech. lol.

Well we celebrated Thanksgiving with someone sitting up for the first time. YEP! On thanksgiving day, I sat him up and he just sat there.. such a big boy!

He also got to pet the dogs for the first time. We've trained the pups pretty well. They walk around him, leave him alone... they try to avoid that he exists... but he's been hounding them A LOT lately.. so we're teaching him to "Be NICE". It works pretty well... thank GOD we have very patient LOVING dogs!

a picture with my aunts and SIL

We managed to find more aunts, cousins, my sister & SIL.. I think we all resemble one another but then again, we are asian. we all look alike!

the spread.

We ventured out for a little Black friday shopping!! It was not as bad as I thought it would be. Usually my husband and I head to walmart to take a look.. this year my siblings and I headed to toys r us.. Man, did we hit the jackpot! it was AWESOME!

I am thankful for all that God has blessed me with! I have an amazing husband, a perfect Baby Boy, a supportive family and the best pets EVER! I couldn't have asked for anything more!

I hope you all had a blessed thanksgiving filled with love, joy and laughter!

Baby Landon is 5 months

My My My.. He get MORE & MORE handsome by the day!! He's also more fun! I can't believe it's been 5 months already! Slow it down buddy!

Weight

At his 5 week appointment he was scheduled for shots... we didn't get a proper measurement and weigh in, but our scale at home weighs him at 19-20 lbs... He's making my arms tired from carrying him around and his baby bjorn is no help (although you love it!) he did get shots, but it didn't even phase him!! he just laughed it off, he's so happy and sweet!

Health

he has clean bill of health.. the only thing is his cradle cap/ dry scalp.. it comes and goes. According to his Ped, he will continue to have it until i'm done breastfeeding him.

Sleep

No complaints.. we did hit a weird change where he would wake up every few hours to nurse.. I thought it was a growth spurt but his Ped said I was being manipulated.. so we went back to sleep training him. it took about 2 days and we were right back on track (he's too smart for his own good!). We transition you from a swaddle to a sleep sack and you adjusted very well!

Clothes

we are ranging between 3-6 to 6-12... it really all depends on the brand, it its separates- def 3-6... but mostly 6-12 or 9 month. Its getting fun to dress him for fall/winter. Layering and styling him has been exciting and everyone tells me how handsome he are!

Diet

98% breastmilk...he will nurse every 4-5 hours, he will take 5 oz from a bottle... but that was a challenge! We did find a bottle that he will take (mOmma's bottles). His doctor thinks he's eating about 7-8 oz per feeding but we haven't been able to give him more than 5oz in a bottle. We started Brown rice cereal... his doctor wanted to start him at 6 months, but I felt that he was ready.. and boy oh boy.. was he ready! It is hit or miss and he started clamping his mouth shut when he's not interested in his cereal, lets just say, he doesn't hate it... but he doesn't love it either. I got a babyfood processor so maybe we can start foods after New Year!

Development

he has rolled back to front and front to back. he likes standing a lot. He's been trying to sit up and push himself up.. I notice that his push ups are higher and stronger!! he LOVES his excersaucer and he's playing actively with balls, teethers and he loves anything that makes noises, sings or lights up. He's a busy little bee all day!

Crying...

you have your opinions and you're not afraid to express them. you are 97% happy, 2% stubborn and 1% fussy. 1% pops up when you're tired or when you're alone with anyone but me... I can be in the house all day but out of site and you're fine.. but the minute I get in my car, it's T minus 5 and you're in tears... you also will cry every once in awhile because you can't put yourself to sleep.

Postpartum

nothing to really share.. shedding is still pretty intense, still eating pretty healthy meals- all organic. Will start working out in January, i've been so tired!
My wrist (the pain from last month) disappeared after wearing an amber necklace for a few days!

overall, this has been a great month! we've been so busy!

lets take a stroll down memory lane!! Month 1-4 below!

I had no idea I was newly pregnant and I reacted so poorly.. I didn't even put up a fight! SHE JUST CORNERED ME and growled.. I ALMOST CRIED!1! so this year we showed up to dance... here is the video. lol

Landon's Baptism

On October 28, 2012- Landon was officially welcomed into the Lord's house! It was such a sweet milestone for him and for us. I've always known that I wanted Landon Baptized and my husband and I have always agreed that we wanted him to grow up in a christian environment. After doing a little soul searching, we decided to have him baptized at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Mission Viejo, CA.

The ceremony lasted a whole 15 minutes. It would've been a beautiful service had a 5 year old child who was also being baptized cried and wailed as the priest blessed the devil out of her and possibly her mother as well. lol.

This child was sOOOoo horrible that the priest kept telling Landon that he was amazing and awesome. Add to the terrible demon wailing like she was possessed, my sisters camera literally became corrupted and she lost ALL her photos. (SAD FACE). Besides that, it was a beautiful experience! We only invited immediate family to join Landon on his blessed day.

In case y'all were wondering.. I had his baptism outfit custom made over on ETSY! Check out KnotSewShabby! I couldn't be happier with the outfit. It was very detailed and perfectly made!

Potty Training Landon

Now I know you all my think I'm crazy, but I thought I'd throw it out there... I am Potty training my 4 month old son. I started at 3 months and we've been going strong since then.

This method is called "Infant Potty Training". You can read about it HERE

I don't expect Landon to "BE POTTY TRAINED" by any age, but I do want him to recognize the toilet and I want him to know that it's natural to use the toilet.

After successfully transitioning Landon into his nursery, we started potty training.

How I started:

1. Get a toilet Seat: I received a toilet seat for my baby shower.. it has now become one of my favorite gifts and I might start passing them out like a the pope passes out blessings...

2. Observe: 1 week before I started, I began watching Landon's "tendencies". I noticed that he enjoyed crapping during his early morning feeding... It was trial and error.

1st day- he sat on it, looking around... but I was pretty diligent about keeping him on for at least 10 minutes. SO, first day, he sat on it- and the minute I took him off and nursed him, he pooped. First day, failed.

2nd day- I sat him on it.. again for 5 minutes.. nothing. Gave him my boob while on the toilet.. he pooped. not bad.

3rd day- same thing.

4th day- i nursed him first- he pooped in between boobs. failed.

5th day- nursed him 1 side, let him poop- nursed him other side.. successful..

We pretty much ran with day 5, he's pooped the minute I've put him on the toilet.

after 8 weeks of consistent potty training (even taking his toilet seat with us to las vegas and san diego) he has only missed his opportunity to crap on his throne 4 times.

We will continue with this schedule until he starts real food and then we will adjust.

I'm hoping that he'll regularly poop in the morning before we leave the house, that way, I can shop without having to find a bathroom for him to poop on. lol.

Let me know if you all plan on trying this method as well!!
