Potty Training Landon at 13 Months

As some of you know- I started potty training Landon when he was about 11 weeks old. With encouragement from my aunts, I went full force. You can read about them HERE and HERE.

It's been a very interesting journey. I noticed within the first month that Landon had moved his bathroom habits towards his morning toilet time... after a few months, he adjusted and only peed in his diaper.

Around 6-7 months, when we introduced solids, we noticed another change. He started to only use the bathroom once a day... He would continue to pee in his diaper.. He also said "poo" every time he needed to go. I also noticed that he wouldn't go to the bathroom in public... he would always wait to go home. So in the early morning around 9:30 he would do business and any time we would go out and return, he would do business. lol.

early this week, we introduced underwear. He went 3 days before he had his first accident. I'm watching his tendencies and he needs to pee about every 20 minutes. Since he nurses in the morning, drinks about 9 oz of almond milk and 15 oz of water a day.. we have to run him to the bathroom every 20 minutes. Its a little exhausting since he's only 13 months.. we only keep him in underwear about 7-8 hours a day, diapers during nap time, bed time and when he leaves the house...

I would say, he's 80% potty trained. I don't think he will be fully potty trained for another 3-4 months, but I'm happy to start the process. He seems to enjoy underwear time.

He will grab his junk when he needs to go. I need a more efficient plan on how I need to get him completely potty trained. Right now, I'm in the process of looking for a good toilet seat.. it's like a toddler seat attached to the adult seat. I want to install it in our upstairs and downstairs bathroom.

how cute is he in underwear?? They don't make any smaller than 2T. I might order swim underwear, but they're expensive!

I'll make sure I keep updating- but I hope to have him fully potty trained at home by 15 months and only in diapers when we're out of the house. I also noticed that his diaper is super dry in the morning and we run him to the potty once he wakes up (around 6:30/ 7). I'll nurse him and put him back to sleep until 8.

I don't think I would do anything differently... because he's going regularly and he has a very consistent schedule. I haven't had any constipation issues with him so I'm very happy with our experience.

  2. This one takes a bit of timing, and a lot of patience: as soon as you see the signs, get your child to the potty/toilet as quickly as you can (you might need to lift them up and run!), and put them on the toilet seat. Sit with him reading or with an iPad or whatever until he goes. Huge applause and reward. Repeat until the connection is made. I have found some good pottytrainingapp from searching google. You may try this apps for become a special potty trainer for your sons. Thanks.More brilliant tips here… pottytrainingapp
